Our lab

One of Rappa Resources' major competitive advantages is its state of the art laboratory which facilitates analysis of the metal content of the mine waste which Rappa Resources purchases and facilitates accurate pricing of the waste material.

The Laboratory is equipped with modern instrumentation, which is operated by experienced and highly qualified staff. Analysis techniques include wet techniques such as gravimetry, titrametry and spectrophotometry and instrumental analysis such as ICP-OES; XRF and Carbon/Sulphur analyser.

The Laboratory professes expertise in noble metal analysis (pgm + gold) both by fire assay and wet chemical/instrumental methods from trace to high grade levels.

In addition to the internal customers of Rappa Holdings, analytical service is offered to external customers for a cost effective fee and by providing short turn-around times.

All types of materials are tested ranging from traces to percentage to determine valuable elements or unwanted contaminants.

New technology is frequently being investigated  to improve quality, speed and accuracy  of the results.

The customers are assured of  quality of the results by the following means:

  1. ISO 17025 accreditation, which provides well documented test methods and procedures, according to International Standards.
  2. International Proficiency Testing several times a year, involving various methods e.g.:
    1. Geostat (Australia)
    2. ASTM International (America)

Thus users of the Rappa Research Laboratory’s services benefit by saving both time and money, when a highly credible  laboratory is providing the service.
